The South West is visited by 17 species of whales, Dolphins and Porpoises including Minke, Pilot and Killer whales, and even the fin whale, the world's second largest animal.
Bottlenose and common dolphins are often seen around our coast.
The harbour porpoise is the South West's smallest and most common cetacean. Its size and shy nature make it difficult to spot.
The Basking shark is the second largest fish in the world and is a regular summer sighting.
The South West is also visited by the leatherback, the world's largest turtle.
Our grey seal population is globally important.
